My husband likes to say he has a drink for every season. In spring and summer, he drinks lemonade like it’s going out of style. In the fall, I can never keep enough cider in the house. And in the winter he goes crazy for eggnog. The eggnog season is so short that I’m always looking for a good eggnog recipe to whip up. Here are some I’ve tried and some I can’t wait to try later this month:
Eggnog Recipe #1: Eggnog Pancakes

If you ask my husband what he loves most about me, he’ll mention these pancakes. I believe it. This is the recipe I use at home, and I’ve even been known to add a dash of bourbon to the syrup.

Make all the jokes you want about pound cake adding more pounds to the waistline – I’ll take ‘em when they come in a form this delicious.
Eggnog Recipe #3: Eggnog Latte

Eggnog flavored syrup? No, thanks. I’ll take steamed eggnog and espresso, if you please. Note that your eggnog may curdle if heated too high too quickly, so take your time heating the nog or serve it warm but not piping hot.
Eggnog Recipe #4: Baked Eggnog French Toast

One Christmas I wasn’t able to get home to family until late on Christmas Day. Waking up to this on Christmas morning was a nice treat for myself and now serves as a family holiday tradition.
Eggnog Recipe #5: Eggnog Ice Cream

Here’s a reason to eat ice cream in winter (although I’ll be honest – I’ll eat ice cream any time of year.) I like to put a little ice cream in my coffee or hot chocolate, and using eggnog ice cream instead of vanilla just might be the best idea I’ve ever had.
