New Free StreetSense Course: Taking Control of Your Family Finances
StreetSense_New_Control

To kick off 2012, PerkStreet launched a special initiative to deliver free personal finance courses to the inboxes of our fans and customers called StreetSense. Enrollment costs nothing and new courses begin daily.

StreetSense offers a new way to improve your financial life. It’s an example of PerkStreet’s dedication to helping Americans create better financial futures for themselves through personal finance education that’s fun, simple to understand and easy to enact. Every course is designed to help people live better through simple, actionable steps.

“Just another reason why I love PerkStreet,” wrote one PerkStreet Blog reader in reaction to the launch of StreetSense. “While other banks try to find ways to get people further into debt, you guys are finding ways to get us out of debt. What a concept! Thank you for having the vision for this.”

Since then, thousands of people have successfully completed the first two StreetSense courses, titled Building a Budget that Sticks and Getting Yourself Out of Debt.

The Newest Course: Give Your Family a Free Financial Tuneup

The newest course is called Taking Control of Your Family Finances, and it uses a different approach from the course options PerkStreet has presented so far.

This course is designed specifically for families.

“In the current economic climate, many families across the country are looking to trim expenses, find new sources of income and generally take their household finances more seriously. These goals are exactly what this new course is built to help folks do,” said PerkStreet CEO Dan O’Malley. “PerkStreet has developed this new course with families of all sizes and incomes in mind, and we’re confident it will help a lot of families better manage their money.”

To develop the new course, PerkStreet teamed up with popular personal finance writer Julie Mayfield, Editor at The Family CEO and Education Blogger at U.S. News & World Report. Mayfield is a personal finance expert, and has been a regular contributor here at The PerkStreet Blog for over a year.

“As a longtime PerkStreet customer, I know PerkStreet is all about helping people save money and live better. When they asked me to help create this course, I knew it would be a wonderful chance for us to do just that,” said Mayfield.

More StreetSense Coming Soon!

PerkStreet intends to continue creating new StreetSense courses frequently. Watch for new ones to be announced, or head over to PerkStreet.com/StreetSense and sign up to receive notifications when new courses are released.

Is there a personal finance course you wish you could sign up for? Share it in the comments section and we’ll work to find experts to cover the topic.
