Why do I say “Yes” to PerkStreet? For many reasons. But first, let me tell you what lead me to PerkStreet. I was tired of Wells Fargo nickel-and-diming me to death! Every time I checked my account there was another hidden fee that I did not know about. I would have to call customer service to complain, and they would take the hidden charge off my account. At first, it didn’t bother me too much. But it just kept happening over and over again, until I SNAPPED! I realized I was not being treated fairly as a customer, even though my bank statement told me I was important month-in and month-out. You know, “valued customer since blah, blah, blah.” Yeah, that one.
On top of the fees, Wells Fargo said they were going to begin charging me a checking account fee because I did not have direct deposit. Well of course not! I am a student just trying to make ends meet. Frustrated, I began looking at reviews for other banks, but everywhere I looked I found something just as bad a choice as Wells Fargo was.
Then, through some divine miracle, I came across PerkStreet’s website and felt LIBERATED! A checking account with no strings attached? A checking account where I was not charged some “maintenance fee” each month? A checking account where I would receive money back for purchases I already planned to make!?
I decided to research more about PerkStreet. I looked around at other PerkStreet Financial reviews, and lots of other people seemed to like banking with them as much as they liked the idea of PerkStreet. Ultimately, I decided to join PerkStreet because I liked how they listed all of their fees up front; there was nothing “hidden” about them.
Today, I like PerkStreet because they do not charge a monthly fee (only an inactivity fee, but hey, who doesn’t use their debit card at least once a month?) I appreciate PerkStreet because of their rewards and how they constantly update their new PowerPerks program. (More PowerPerks = more rewards!) And I really LOVE PerkStreet because of their exceptional customer service, and I do mean exceptional! There are only two companies who have ALWAYS, without fail, provided me quality customer service, PerkStreet and Chic-Fil-A. No matter how stupid my questions may have been during the year-and-a-half I’ve been a customer, I always receive a quality response, and most importantly, in a timely manner.
Here’s an example: Recently, I needed help on a graduate level assignment and it was due within the next hour or so. Kyle Psaty, who runs DailyPerk – PerkStreet’s blog — was willing to lend me a hand. The assignment was to learn about what a company you do business with wants the public to know about their business, and how they are getting that message across to current and potential customers.
The fact that Kyle was able to email me back with answers to the questions I asked, with a little over an hour until my assignment was due, well, it was nothing short of incredible. In fact, my professor told me that I had the best assignment out of the entire class! Best of all, his answers were the kind of answers anyone banking with PerkStreet could feel good about: PerkStreet wants the world to know how much you can earn on debit. They want people to see that financial responsibility can be rewarded. They want their customers to earn more and experience fewer fees.
Here is another reason why I like PerkStreet: because of the intangibles, the things that cannot be seen or touched. They have team members who are willing to go the extra mile for their customers, even when it has nothing to do with profits.
I choose PerkStreet because they do not list on their online bank statements, “valued customer since . . .” No, they show it.
In a marriage, your spouse will know whether those three beautiful words “I LOVE YOU!” actually carry any meaning. Customers are tired of being treated poorly by companies who tell them how much they value them, without actually showing it. This is what I am looking for in companies that want my business, to be treated fairly and intelligently, and PerkStreet is one of those companies.
