It’s wedding season, and as any bride-to-be will tell you, that means a lot of anxiety about logistics and the wedding budget. Luckily, modern-day brides have many mobile applications at their disposal to ensure that their special day goes off without a hitch. These applications are compatible with iPhones, iPads, and Android phones.
The first application worth mentioning is iWedding Deluxe. IWedding Deluxe organizes guest lists, stores guest contact information, and syncs with a desktop computer. Apple | $7.99
WeddingWire is a free iPhone application allows brides to organize a to-do list and a vendor list. It offers various management tools ideal for the planning stages as well as a vendor search tool. Apple & Android | Free
3) TheKnot.com’s Wedding Dress Look Book
Website TheKnot.com offers all kinds of content and community for brides-to-be. Their app gives brides the ability to browse through numerous wedding dresses by designer, price and silhouette. Once a bride finds a dress she is interested in looking at in-person, the program will locate a local salon that carries the exact design. Apple with Android coming soon | Free
The Tiffany Ring Finder app provides brides and husbands-to-be the ability to peruse through many delightful ring designs. An amazing feature offered by the iPhone is that you can lay a ring down on the face of the iPhone and the program will help you calculate the size of the ring. Apple | Free
1) BRIDES Wedding Genius
My favorite and perhaps the most comprehensive mobile wedding application is the BRIDES Wedding Genius app, by Conde Nast. One section of the application provides ideas on wedding gowns, dresses, wedding rings and honeymoon travel ideas. Brides can save their favorites into a separate folder for easy retrieval later.
One extremely beneficial feature is the task tracker. This feature allows brides to organize every task in chronological order in a project management type style. Brides can easily email tasks to people, setup reminders and updates as well as allow others to update the project timeline. Truly an interactive program, the app uses proven methodology to ensure progress.
The Wedding Genius application provides users with useful tips at every step of the planning process. Brides can sync their mobile device to the desktop version or learn more at bridesweddinggenius.com. Apple | Free
Regardless of which of the above mobile wedding applications you use, you will certainly have added planning resources at your fingertips. The better job you do at planning, the more money you will save.
