Air Guitar Championships: The 4 Best Songs to Air Out to
Air Guitar Championships 4 Best Songs To Air Out To

Real instruments are expensive, take up room in your house, and you can’t play them after 10 o’clock without getting a call from the neighbors.

Air instruments, however, are nearly perfect in contrast :)

In honor of the US Air Guitar Championship Finals happening in Denver, Colorado, this weekend (July 21st), we’re saluting those of you about to rock the air with the best songs to perform air instruments to.

Slide 1

Best Song For Air Guitar
Sweet Child O’ Mine: Guns N’ Roses

This was a tough call, but the opening sequence alone gets your fingers itching to strum the air.

Slide 2

Best Song for Air Piano
Come Sail Away: Styx

Air piano? You’d better believe it, and this song has a sweet piano intro you won’t be able to resist.

Slide 3

Best Song for Air Drums
In The Air Tonight: Phil Collins

No contest. And if you’ve seen the film The Hangover, you know Mike Tyson agrees.

Slide 4

Best Song for Air Saxophone
Careless Whisper: Wham

This is also voted the Best Song To Slow Dance Like An Awkward Preteen to.

Air musicians are becoming more and more popular as performers go, and you simply can’t find a cheaper hobby.

Do you agree with our staff picks? What songs do you rock out to on air instruments at home or in your car? Tell us in the comments and share this with your favorite air bandmates!

I’m too old to enter the contest but I live in Denver so I may go to observe!

According to my dad, you’re never too old to rock, Ron. But then, isn’t that a total dad thing to say?

If you go, let us know how it was! I grew up in Colorado and remember the Bluebird as being a nice venue. It should be a good time.

I’m 47 years old and i wasn’t the oldest at my regional in LA…that was a woman who celebrated her 62nd birthday the night of the competition!  She almost won the thing.  So, as ol’ Satchel Paige once said, “Age is a question of mind over matter…if you don’t mind, it don’t matter.”  Rock on!
